I recently renovated the outside of my house, which included painting the main part of the house (an old Queenslander) pale cool grey with white trim from the original brown colour. The front door was also brown and blue and the debate of what colour to paint it was quite a heated topic in my household! Having always adored pastel doors of London, I suggested a dusty salmon pink to the boys of the house. It took a bit of convincing but I won this war in the end. (I promised that if they hated it in six months I would change the colour.) I bought several pink paint samples from Bunnings and tried them as swatches.
Fearing that the door may end up looking too candy pink in colour I ended up choosing the first and highest swatch on the door here, which is ‘Pink Dust by Taubmans.’ (Which was a colour that I first discovered from the ladies at Three Birds Renovations.) The finish is semi gloss and when painted larger than the swatch the colour looks a lot more ‘pink’ and was definitely the right choice out of the three.
The little white topiary pot was one that I also bought from Bunnings for AUD$28 and spray painted white. (Three coats both inside and out.)
Now every day feels like coming home to #thatpinkfrontdoor and the boys are saying it was their idea…
